Get to Know Me
Denise Miller, LCSW #82997

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have worked for over a decade assisting adults navigate and heal from challenging life events. My approach is warm, collaborative, and centered on your unique needs, developing a therapeutic relationship where we can work together to address issues such as PTSD, trauma, dissociation, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, grief, and painful relationships.

Making a decision to begin therapy and finding a therapist who is right for you can be difficult. Here are questions for you to consider - Do you feel stuck or held back from fully engaging in the life you want to live? Are you struggling with conflicting thoughts and feelings which impact your ability to reach your goals? Do you feel as though you are not fully present in your own life and/or relationships? My education, training, experience, and personal style might be a fit for you.
My certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the international association for EMDR (EMDRIA) reflects that I can provide evidence-based treatment for these and other challenges. EMDR is a therapeutic method which helps the brain reprocess the source of emotional and interpersonal difficulties so they no longer lead to distress and conflict.

I regularly attend trainings and workshops by experts with 20-30 years of experience in EMDR and other modalities. This allows me to keep current on new techniques that integrate with additional approaches I use to assist with each person’s unique needs. To further support clients in cultivating healthier thought patterns, behaviors and relationships, I also incorporate other evidenced based modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide you with a customized approach.

I have lived in the Temecula Valley for over 25 years; have been married for over 30 years; and have recently become a grandmother to my beautiful grandson. I was inspired to become a therapist after the passing of my parents and going through my own healing journey. In doing so, I realized my purpose and passion was in providing hope and healing to others by providing a safe space where one can share their struggles and feel seen, without the fear of being judged.
